Clean database architecture starts here
About Us
We Want Every
Business To Unlock The Power Of Their Data
At Bullbyte, we realize that even in this era of big data and AI, most companies still struggle with relational data quality, integrity, database source control, and data-related knowledge re-discovery.
Our mission is to change how businesses think about their data by giving them the tools to understand, design and deploy their schemas.
We aim to define a new industry standard for how data modeling is done.

Our Team
The data modeling evangelists
We recognized the need for an easy-to-use data modeling tool to help both new and seasoned data professionals take control of their schemas, once and for all.
Sam de Melo is a seasoned data professional with a career spanning over 15 years. He specializes in strategic consulting in data architecture, enterprise data modeling and database infrastructure operations. When he is not entrenched in his office working on DBAnvil or developing one of his other businesses, you can usually find him jumping off perfectly working planes or travelling alone in Europe without an itinerary.
"Throughout my career in a variety of data-related roles, I have witnessed companies suffer tremendously with the consequences of poor relational data modeling. When a data model fails to enforce the reality of a business, it is a statistical certainty that a variety of data quality issues will emerge. This will eventually add hidden costs to any organization - such as hindering data analytics initiatives, wasting software developer cycles with bug fixing, and turning databases into black boxes that are only understandable by those who originally created them. It is therefore extremely important to be thoughtful about how these data structures are defined, controlled, maintained and documented.
This is true especially at a time when we are increasingly delegating implementation to artificial intelligence. Data professionals must shift their attention away from execution and towards governance and control.
However, I have found existing data modeling tools not to be up for the task. They are either too clunky, outdated and over-engineered for today's fast-paced environment, or they fail to support the entire workflow of database schema design and deployment. This is why I have set out on this mission to develop DBAnvil and set the gold standard for data modeling."
